The canle holders are "heavy duty" in nature: having a thick base and walls. The pieces are covered with a variety of colored glazes including antique blue, "capucino" (creamy light brown), and rich green or blue. The outer surfaces of the candle holders have been sculptured into images of fish. The finished surfaces are very gritty or sandy textured suggesting that they were carved from beach sand. The inside of the holders are smoother (yet still gritty) and gently curved to allow for the easier removal of melted, unburned wax. Felt backing material is provided for application to the bottom of the candle holders. Each canle holder comes with one sizeable candle.
